A single function printer is one whose function is solely to print. Others may copy, scan, fax or email. These are known as multi-function printers.

AirPrint printers

An option on some wireless single function printers is AirPrint. This is a technology used in Apple products that means users do not have to install drivers on their devices. Instead, they would use the AirPrint app on their Apple device to connect to and print from the printer via a Wi-Fi network.
